The level of Web5 technological change is crazy. It happens so dramatically that one is left scratching the head as to what happened and why it happened.
When everyone was trying to wrap their heads around the concept of Web3, Jack Dorsey announced the introduction of Web5.
According to the TBD presentation pack, “Web5 is a Decentralized Web Platform that enables developers to leverage Decentralized Identifiers, Verifiable Credentials, and Decentralized Web Nodes to write Decentralized Web Apps, returning ownership and control over identity and data to individuals.”
It will be a new platform built on the Bitcoin blockchain. Also, it will provide guaranteed portability for personal identity.
However, some experts say that it is no different from Web3 as the goal of Web3 is to provide ownership to the users using blockchains, NFTs, and cryptocurrency at the core.
One difference between Web5 is that it is “for the people”. This means that unlike Web3, where a group of Venture capitalists is a huge force. Web5 gives autonomy to the users, and they have full control over it.
Web5 promises to focus on providing a delightful experience while returning ownership and identity to individuals. It is yet to be seen how well it stands up to the expectations of its user and, most importantly
