When I started investing in cryptocurrency it was out of sheer curiosity. I was lured into investing in it because it felt too good to be true. And, who doesn’t like quick money, right?

After investing, the first thing I realized is that it is not a fairy tale. You will be encountered with the red monster as instantaneously as you invest. Many new investors like me feel that way. Somehow, my interest in it grew, and started researching it.

Cryptocurrency is a serious thing. Even though it is not backed by any company and its fundamentals. However, the news certainly has an impact on it. In recent times, the crypto market crashed dramatically. Bitcoin plunged and so did Ethereum and Solana.

There were rounds of news related to the regulatory framework in countries like the US and Russia regarding digital assets which triggered a mass sell-off.

In India also, although cryptocurrency has not been legalized, it was included under the tax regime with a flat tax rate of 30% on all the profits earned.

Such regulations drive investors to sell off their digital assets and are often a deterrent for novice investors like me to put their money in them.

Points, as a new investor that I felt helped me, were:

• Starting with a small amount
• Not giving in to the urge of investing when the market feels lucrative
• Keeping updates
• Go long.
